Good! I'm glad people who have been posting on here for days are finally getting some results. An IRS spokesman said those who updated their DD portal will have our checks by 4/29. They are doing it like they did the first wave when they started depositing checks Saturday-Wednesday. I am pretty confident we will get ours by next Wednesday at the latest.

yeah just accept your getting paper checks if you didn't have the same bank account the last 2 years and did taxes with the same account for 2018 and 2019 .... otherwise your getting a paper check
I doubt it's that bad. I won't get a paper check until the end of May. I expect they will have the kinks worked out by then. I expect to have my check DD next week sometime.
correct the only problem is that they wont do it urgently if they try to make it work or they may not even fix it … president trump is firm on the pandemic flatlining and is in no hurry to get everyone their money anymore, to him its not urgent anymore … to be fair tho he will make sure everyone still gets their check ….but "you will get them when you get them " quote assures me that hes not concerned about how fast you get it …...… just to add he said if their is a second round it will be done differently concluding that the way its being done now is not the best way … if ANYTHING they will have a brand new more functional and safer portal to use but that's a longshot
Which is why I opened up shop regardless of their stay at home orders. They clearly don't care about helping us make ends meet. I can't sit around waiting for them to send me money.

The issue could be your bank then. Sometimes it takes 2-3 business days for your bank to post a deposit. I bank with the credit union and that's how it is with me. If the IRS sent my payment on 4/22 it wouldn't post to my account until 4/24.

YrS Wrote: The website and the IRS are so buried with payments via DD and check ... its going to take time. The government, I don’t recall who in the House said it but it was stated “you’ll get it when you get it” as wrong as the statement was to make, it really is the truth but don’t be surprised if they run out of money like they did for the PPP and have to go back for a second round to pay people in the future.
And it's responses by inconsiderate government jerks like that is exactly why I opened our business back up this week. Screw them and their quarantines and stay at home orders, I need money to survive at this point.

The most recent information we have is that if you filled out your DD information by Thursday of last week then you should get your check this week. We have all been getting the same message. Eligible for refund, no date yet, will deposit in bank account listed.

The IRS has been radio silent when it comes to people who have used their portal to set up DD, which is troubling. I'm honestly not expecting to get my check this week even though I gave them my DD last Wednesday.

As far as I know, no one has received a deposit from using the "Get My Payment" app. Someone said they got their DD the same day they applied for it on the website, but they were using a Chime card and I think Chime was advancing it for some folks. Everyone else I have seen is having the same issue as you and I. Deposit is coming, no date, displays bank info.

I know they bought a lot of new computers here in NC, which we desperately needed. NC is the absolute pits when it comes to unemployment, it's the slowest state to pay and it also pays some of the least benefits in the country. I'm self employed and they aren't even going to start processing our applications until 4/25. I have been out of work for over a month now because our governor shut us down pretty quick and since building furniture is a non essential business I can't go to our shop to build or store to sell. My savings is about run dry, I'm also still waiting on our stimulus check lol... This has been an incredibly stressful month. Hopefully when unemployment kicks in I get a nice big check for backpay. I have filed my weekly certification every week, so we will see.

They may continue paying you but if they rule in favor of your former employer then they might make you pay it back. I know that's what they do here in NC.

Why is your former employer appealing it?
