My wife and I both are receiving Social Security Disability. The amount my wife receives is not very much because she did not make as much income as I did. Should the amount she receives be half of what I receive?

The amount your wife receives is based on her lifetime average earnings that are covered by Social Security. So if she earned less than you throughout her working years then her SSDI benefits will reflect that.

I would encourage you to visit the official Social Security Disability Insurance website because that explains it in detail for you. They break down how her benefits are calculated and have contact information if you have any further questions regarding her benefits.

    I hope that helps!
