We keep quietly finding out more and more things in the 3rd stimulus bill that weren't direct payments, but will help millions of Americans during difficult times. This time it's a massive expansion of Obamacare subsidies, which will make it so millions of uninsured Americans will soon qualify for subsidies to purchase coverage. It's been predicted that upwards of 15 million uninsured Americans will receive coverage and roughly 9 million Americans already receiving subsidies will be eligible for more. Since it was passed using budget reconciliation, the additional subsidies are only good until 2023 unless Congress extends it.

I think this is great news. The more people insured the better. So if you are currently uninsured, it can not hurt to check and see if you qualify for subsides once they become available for most states starting April 1, 2021.

I have to admit I'm a little surprised at how quiet the Administration has been about this part of the stimulus bill. I understand that money in your pocket is the "flashiest" thing, but ensuring millions of people critical health coverage during a global health crisis is also a pretty big deal if you ask me.

What parameters did they change to make more qualify?
