I have a lot of first responders in my family. My brother asked me the other day if congress is going to do anything as far tax breaks go for first responders. I went looking, and all I could find was similar stuff going on in individual states, but nothing on the federal level. Has anyone heard anything about bills in congress that would provide tax relief for first responders? I know many of them struggle with having to come out of pocket for overpriced insurance, and things of that nature. Would really be great if our government helped out the people who help us so much on a daily basis.

Looked as well. I do see articles mentioning for Connecticut and Florida relief plans and ideas but nothing nationally, at least from what I could find. Does look like its a state by state initiative at this point but I agree, it should be national. And just like with taking care of the military when they come back from serving, I don't understand how first responders and healthcare workers aren't better taken care of.

Yep not seeing anything on the federal level. Only some states are moving initiatives forward to take care of these people. There certainly needs to be more relief for them.

I would hope so. They deserve all the help they can get right now.
