$1,400 Stimulus Checks + Money for Dependents

It took many months between the first and second round of stimulus checks, but a third one is likely on the way much faster than that.

The Senate passed a budget resolution along party lines, with Vice President Harris casting the tie-breaking vote, that included a $1,400 stimulus check for most Americans and additional money for dependent children. The resolution will allow Democrats to pass the legislation without fear of a Republican filibuster.

Now the House will begin debating the $1.9 Trillion disaster package that includes a wide range of government relief in addition to the stimulus checks. Once the House passes their version of the bill it will go back to the Senate, which can pass the bill with 50 votes (with Vice President Harris casting the a tie-breaking vote).

Don't start planning how you're going to spend your money right away because it will take weeks of debate before any legislation gets to President Biden for his signature, but since the Senate appears to have the votes it is only a matter of time before the 3rd stimulus check will be sent out.

What do you plan to spend your 3rd stimulus check on if you get one? As the way things look now, my wife and I likely won't be getting much, but it we do get anything we will likely donate it to our local food bank. But if we get more than we expect we may treat ourselves to a new TV that I've been eyeing for awhile.

I'm hoping the checks get sent out faster than we're thinking. Not because I need the check, but because there's a ton of people that desperately do. I've said it a bunch before, but I just can't believe how long this is taking. Debates. More debates. Extra stuff pushed in for personal, agendas.. It's embarrassing. The response to this whole situation has just been embarrassing in the U.S.

As far as actually getting the 3rd stimulus check, I'm not sure what I'd use it on. Probably savings or investment.

Yeah it's all been extremely political, and ridiculously transparent how political it is. On both sides of the aisle in my opinion. Regardless of that, I'm expecting by early to mid March a version of the new stimulus package will be signed, so checks of $1000-$1400 by March - April sometime, depending on if its mailed or direct deposited.
