I applied for unemployment as self employed as allowed under the new Coronovirus rules. I just received notice I was denied due to not payng any FL unemployment wages which should not apply. I cant get back into my account and even PIN reset doesnt work. Ive read conflicting aricles that say if denied you dont need to reapply and that if self employed you must first get denied then appeal and that if you applied in early April you must reapply. What should I do?

Was able to find this. Not sure if any of this is new information for you, but hope it helps.

Florida says it’s fixing its unemployment mess. But it’s still a mess.

The agency said applicants should use the following criteria when applying for federal assistance:

    • Individuals who applied for state benefits on or after April 5 and were deemed ineligible will receive additional application information from the agency. They can also visit for more information regarding these programs.
    • Applicants should monitor their accounts and email for additional information from the agency.
    • Those who are self-employed, contract employees, gig workers or others who applied for the state benefits on or before April 4 should apply at and select “File a Claim” to request the federal money.
    • Unemployed Floridians who have not yet applied for any benefits should apply at and will be considered for all existing programs, including federal aid.
