Do you file as a 1099 private contractor or as a 1040? Or both?

Private contractors are able to file for unemployment benefits *and* receive the additional $600/week for four months. To get started you would need to go to Florida's unemployment website and fill out an application.

If Florida has not set up a way for private contractors to fill out an application then rest assured they are in the process of doing so. The vast majority of states previously didn't allow private contractors to file unemployment claims, so they have to create a way to allow you to do so.

file 1040.. human resources tells us ti file for partial un-employment. There is very little info on that. So some of us have applied on-line. Don't expect anything though.
