If I'm understanding your question correctly, you want to know if a person who receives SSDI but is claimed as a dependent by you (or someone you know) will receive a stimulus check?

Here is what the IRS says on their official stimulus check website:

If you receive these benefits, we already have your information and you will receive $1,200. Do not use this application if you receive:

    • Social Security retirement, disability (SSDI), or survivor benefits
    • Railroad Retirement and Survivor Benefits

Special note: People in these groups who have qualifying children under age 17 can use this application to claim the $500 payment per child.

If I understand it correctly, SSDI beneficiaries do not need to do anything unless there is an unclaimed child under aged 17 living in the household.

However, if you meant to say SSI benefits instead of SSDI then there may be some additional steps you need to take. If someone currently on SSI who has a dependent (not someone who is claimed as a dependent) that hasn't been claimed then they will need to head to the IRS stimulus check website and enter their information.

    I hope this helps.

If you are on SSDI and being claimed as a dependent you won't get a stimulus check, unfortunately. If that's what you mean. Here are two exerts that should help:

Will my dependent age 65 or older qualify for a stimulus payment?

Seniors who are claimed as dependents are not eligible to receive stimulus checks. However, all people who receive social security benefits will automatically be sent a $1,200 stimulus payment.

The taxpayer that claims them is not able to claim the $500 either because they are not a qualifying child.

Will my dependent, who is an adult with disabilities, qualify for a stimulus payment?

Adults who are claimed as dependents on someone else’s tax return are not eligible for the $500 bonus or their own $1,200 check. This includes adults with disabilities.
