The Canadian campaign cycle was 78 days this year. That is one of the longest in its history. Compared to the U.S. that is insanely short. One of the pros of having such a short election cycle is that it prevents political fatigue which tends to help voter turnout. A lot of people in the U.S. just burn out when it comes to paying attention to the nearly 2 year campaigning in the U.S.

I would love for America to have an election cycle that lasts only 78 days. It's interesting how we are the only industrialized country that seemingly has a never ending election cycle. Maybe we could learn something from our northern neighbor.
