The 2020 Democratic Presidential primary field is the largest in party history with nearly two dozen declared candidates vying for the opportunity to take on Donald Trump in the general election. To help Democratic primary voters become more informed on the various positions held by various candidates, and to appease some in the party who claim there weren't enough debates in the 2016 cycle, the Democratic National Committee has announced that they will sanction twelve primary debates. Six debates will be held in 2019 and the remaining six will be held in 2020.
